She attended Queens School Ilorin for her secondary education and studied Economics and Accountancy at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Armstrong College in California respectively.

Hajia Bola had worked at the Audit Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
She left CBN in 1983 and joined the commercial business sector and began importaion and distribution of photographic materials such as Roll papers, films and chemicals under the name, Bolmus International Limited in Nigeria.
She registered Fotofair Nigeria in 1997 and opened a photo laboratory service on Victoria Island Lagos while using hundred percent Japanese technology under the Konica brand name.
And now, Fotofair boast of over thirty photo laboratories in different parts of the country.
She is the managing director of one of the largest distributors of base oil in Nigeria, Practoil while meeting the needs of the local lubricant blending plants.

Hajia Bola got married to Alhaji Shagaya, a kwara state based transport mogul. Their union is blessed with six children namely; Sherif Shagaya, Hakeem Shagaya, Deeja Shagaya, Naieema Sgahaya, Amaya Roberts Shagaya and Adeena Roberts Shagaya.
