7 Ghanaian Actresses Who Have Made A Name For Themselves In Nollywood

 Ghana as a country is blessed with a lot of celebrities who surely know what they want for themselves and among them are actresses whose talents have paved way for them in the Nollywood.

These Ghanaian actresses found their way into the Nigeria movie industry and since then they have been able to remain consistent  thereby amassing popularity.

Below are the Ghanaian actresses who took the Nigeria movie scene by storm:

1. Nadia Buari

 Nadia Buari who switched from Ghanaian movie to Nollywood in 2008, came to limelight with the film Beyonce and Rihanna where she played the role of Beyonce alongside actress Omotola Jalade who played the role of Rihanna.

2. Jackie Appiah

 Canadian born actress, Jackie Aygemang Appiah had her breakthorugh in Nollyood with sevearl movies like My last wedding alongside Emeka Ike, Black soul and bitter blessing alongside actor Ramsey Noah.

 3. Juliet Ibrahim

Juliet who have featured in many films, first had her breakthrough with the Nollywood film, Yankee Boys. Her second movie “Shattered Dance” which featured both Ghanaian and Nigerian actors, was launched amids fanfare in Accra, Ghana on the 5th December 2014.

4. Joselyn Dumas

Joselyn Dumas is a television personality who made her debut as host of the entertainment show, Charter House’s Rhythmz. She launched her career in the Nollywood scene with movies like Lekki Wives (Season2), Perfect picture and many others.

5. Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson’s first lead role was in the movie titled Princess Tyra. She had shot about five more movies before she moved to Nigeria where she launched her Nollywood career with a movie collaboration with Genevieve Nnaji in 2007.

6. Yvonne Okoro

Just after her senior secondary school, Yvonne made her debut in the Nollywood in the movie sticking to the promise, a 2002 movie produced by the Nigerian producer, Theo Akatugba.

She also featured in a cameo appearance in the series Tentacles by the same producer for Point Blank Media Concepts.

7. Martha Ankomah

Martha started her movie career during the days of Fun World and Kiddafest in 1996 and later went on stage with the group T.P.S. She has also featured in several nollywood movies like The Engagement, Divided Couple, Politics Is A Game.
