Yumi Nu (born September 23, 1996) is a Japanese Dutch model, singer and songwriter. She was named 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s Rookie of the Year as the first Asian curve Sports Illustrated model. She already boast of 12 years experience in modeling and had also released numerous songs.

Early Life
Yumi Nu was born in New Jersey to a Dutch father, Brent and a Japanese mother, Kana Grace. She had lived in New Jeresey for seven years before she moved to Maryland and then California. Her parents had met in Manhattan, New York. Her father is an IT personnel while her model who started out as a model delved into being a therapist.
She grew up with her younger sister who does not like to be in the spotlight. She is the niece of the superstar disc jockey and producer, Steve Aoki.
She studied Business in a Community College in Orange Coast after completing her high school. She also studied Graphic designing at Arizona State Online School.
Career
Yumi Nu had wanted to pursue a caree in modeling and music ever since she was a kid. She’s been surrounded by like minds in the family as her father had aspired to be a musician while her mother started out as a model.
She signed her first modeling contract at the age of 12.
She got to meet her uncle, Steve Aoki, a professional DJ and producer, after her family moved to Las Vegas. She began to sing at the age of 12 and has released music for Aoki’s Dim Mak Records.
At the age of 16, she had made YouTube covers and also released an EP titled “Sincerely”.

Yumi has also released other songs which include; Find You, Ghosted, Ego Boost and so on.
Yumi came to liemlight after being unveiled as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s first Asian curve model. She has now join Leyna Bloom who’s also making history as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s first transgender model of color.
However, she also plan to launch her own plus-size clothing line ‘Blueki’.

Personal Life
Yumi Nu is said to be in a relationship with Dimitri Dinas, a part-time zookeeper at Muk Posh. The plus-sized model never hesitate to flaunt her boyfriend on her Instagram page.
