Early Life
Takeoff was born Kirshnik Khari Ball on June 18, 1994, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, United States. He grew up with his mother, his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset.
Career
Takeoff came through professionally in 2008 as a member of the music group Migos, with fellow family members, Quavo and Offset. They had performed under the name Polo Club before changing it to Migos. They released their first full-length project, a mixtape titled Juug Season, on August 25, 2011, and followed up with another mixtape No Label, on June 1, 2012.
The group became known for their single “Versace”, in 2013, which was later remixed by the Canadian rapper Drake.
They released their debut studio album, Yung Rich Nation in July 2015, with features from the likes of Chris Brown and Young Thug. It also enjoyed production credit from Murda Beatz and Zaytoven.
They achieved their first number one single in 2016 with “Bad Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, while Takeoff claimed he was not featured on the song because of his busy schedule at that time.
They released their second studio album on January 27, 2017, featuring the likes of 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled, and Gucci Mane.
Migos released their third studio album Culture II on January 26, 2018, with guest appearances from the likes of Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Big Sean, Ty Dolla Sign, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Drake, Cardi B, and many others.
