Early Life
Rauw Alejandro was born Rauw Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz on January 10, 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to parents, Rauw Ocasio and Maria Nelly Ruiz. His father is a guitarist and his mother is a backing vocalist. He also has a sister named Paola Ocasio.
He had lived with his father in the United States, in Miami and New York to be precise.
He attended the dame school with the Puerto Rican rapper Annuel AA. After his high school education, he proceeded to the University of Puerto Rico.
Career
Alejandro grew up in music background. He played soccer from age six to age twenty before he delved into music.
He has been able to develop his passion for music with influences from the likes of Ciara, Chris Brown, and Elvis Presley.
He began to upload songs on SoundCloud in 2014 and came through with his debut mixtape Punto de Equilibrio in November 2016.
He signed a music deal with Duars Entertainment in January 2017 and was chosen in 2018 by Sony Music Latin to be part of “Los Proximos”, a music project in which the label sought to enlist musical talents. He came to the limelight through the music project and began collaborating with different artists such as Kevin Roldán and Kheas ‘Pa’ Ti Casa.
He released his first single “Toda” alongside Alex Rose, in December 2017 and the remix with Cazzu, Lenny Tavarez, and Lyanno, was released in May 2018.
He came through with his debut album, Afrodisiaco, on November 13, 2020, which was preceded by the release of the songs and music videos, Enchule and Reloj with Annuel AA.
He released his second album, Vice Versa through Sony Music Latin, on June 25, 2021.
Alejandro has enjoyed tours across the globe such as Kansas City, Omaha, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami, Orlando, Columbus, Ontario, Rosarito, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, San Juan, and La Romana.
