Rahma Riad was born Rahma Abdulredha Mezher Al-Sibahi on January 19, 1987, in Basrah, Iraq. Her father Abdulredha Mezher Al-Sibahi popularly known as Riah Ahmed, was also a singer.
Career
Riad started her career participating in numerous music contests in the Arab World. She became known for her participation in the Star Academy, where she performed on stage with several Arab artists such as Latifa, Assala, Angham, and Nawal El Zoghbi. She got to the finals alongside Nassif Zeytoun, who emerged winner.
After her participation at the Star Academy, she came through with the single “Khlesna” which was released in Lebanese music. She also followed up with a song in the Gulf Arabic dialect titled “Moo Galata”.
She came to the limelight for her song “Waed Menni” released on August 22, 2018. The song was written by Ramy Al-Aboudi and composed by Ali Saber. It garnered over 148 million views on YouTube.
She released other songs like “Mako Menni” “Athadakom”, “Al Kawkab”, “Asaad Lel Gourmar”, and was chosen to feature in Light The Sky, a song for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, featuring Nora Fatehi, RedOne, Balquees, and Manal.
