Lucy Bronze was born Lucia Roberta Tough Bronze on October 28, 1991 in Berwick-upon-Tweed, England. She was born to parents Joaquim Bronze and Diana née Tough. Her father is Portuguese while her mother is from England. She has two siblings, an older brother named Jorge and a younger sister named Sophie.
She went to Duchess’s Community High School. She studied at the University of North Carolina. She transfered to Leeds Metropolitan University to continue with her sports science degree and graduated in 2013. Prior to being a footballer, she had wanted to become an accountant.
Bronze can also speak languages like English, Portuguese and French. She began to learn Spanish when she wanted to join Barcelona.
Career
Bronze began her football career at the youth level with Sunderland in 2002 and moved to Blyth Town in 2004.
She made her professional career with Sunderland in 2007 before moving to Everton in 2010.
She joined Liverpool in 2012 and later signed for Manchester City in November 2014.
She signed a three-year contract for Lyon in August 2017 and later returned to Manchester City on a two-year contract on September 8, 2020.
Bronze joined Barcelona in June 2022, after her contract with Manchester City expired. She scored her first goal for the club in a match against Athletico Madrid on November 27, 2022.
At the international stage, Bronze represented England at the Under-17, Under-19, under-20, and under-23 levels before being called up to the senior team.
