Early Life & Background

Jhybo whose real name is Jibola Toriola is an award winning Nigerian indigenious rapper, singer and songwriter born in January 1989.

Jhybo was born and raised in Lagos Island part of Lagos State but originally hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He has 6 siblings and was raised by his grandmother.

He attended Holy Cross Primary School and Boys Academy for his primary and secondary education respectively.

He also studied Mass Communication at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta.

Career

Jhybo began his career at the age of 10 while playing drums in different churches.

He started professionally in 2010 with the release of his single “They Just Dey Run Their Mouth” featuring the female dance-hall sensation, Cynthia Morgan. The song received lots of massive airplay across the streets and became an anthem in the mouth of music lovers.

Jhybo has released countless number of songs with his former record label before he began an independent partnership with Lima Music.

His first single released under the label was “Baba Loke” enlisting the talent of the Ghen Ghen crooner, Orezi. It was also accompanied with a lovely visual which boast of massive views.

Jhybo eventually gain more popularity shortly after he dropped the prayerful theme single “Adura Elijah” which was also well received by music pundits and critics alike.

The talented rapper already boast of two albums; Jhybo Classics and Jibola Jasper.
