Early Life
Ding Dong Ravers was born Kemar Christopher Dwaine Ottey on September 29, 1980 in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Ferdinand Ottey and Denise Bennett He is originally from Nannyville, Kingston where he was raised by his grandmother and aunt after being taken by his father from his mother in Fletchers Land, Jamaica. He lost his father at a tender age of 3.
Career
Ding Dong began his career as a dancer despite having passion for both dancing and football.
He joined the Flatbush Dance Crew in the early 2000 where he spent several days performing for community members. His talent paved way after being sighted by Tony Matterhorn at an event called Early Monday in the community of Standpipe.
He is the creator of several dances such as Chakka Chakka, Swing Song, Badman Fawad, Flowers a Bloom, Dip again, Paranoid, Part Di Crowd, and aMonument.
He created the dance group Ravers Clavers with group of friends in early 2003 and have been instrumental in creating popular dances like “Lowe Mi”, “Fling”, “Lebeh Lebeh”, “Sivwa”, and “Shampoo”.
He came through as a recording artist with the release of his first single “Bad Man Forward Bad Man Pull Up” in late 2005.
He also released “Holiday” in 2009, which is a collaboration with the Jamaican singer Chevaughn. He also followed up with the release of Ricky Blaze produced singles “Wul Up”, “Shampoo”, “Hustler”, and “Syvah”.
He also released songs like “Rock The Floor”, “Gas”, “Lowe Mi”, and “Fling”, alongside label mate dancehall Princess Shenseea.
