Cobie Smulders (born Jacoba Francisca Maria on April 3, 1992) is an award winning Canadian actress and model. She came to prominence for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in How I Met Your Mother and Maria Hill in The Avengers.
She is also known for her roles in the Netflix comedy series Friends from College and ABC crime drama series, Stumptown. She has starred in films like Results and Safe Haven.

Early Life
Cobie Smulders was born on April 3, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to a Dutch immigrant mother and a Canadian father. She was raised in Toronto, Ontario.
She has seven siblings of which include three brothers, Mark, Scott and Adam and four sisters namely; Melissa, Julie, Fiona, and Amy.
She attended Lord Bying Secondary School and University of Victoria where she studied Marine Biology.
Career
Cobie began her career at six years old when she started doing modeling work. Her parents were both athletic, but encouraged Cobie to go into modeling careers in the beginning . When she was eleven years old, she decided to begin taking acting lessons.
She started her acting career in the late 1990’s with a string of television film and small parts later landing a recurring role on How I Met Your Mother, and then landing the part of Robin Scherbatsky on the show How I Met Your Mother, opposite Neil Patrick Harris.
In 2014 Cobie Smulders was seen in the highly-anticipated summer film “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” as one of the three lead actresses along with Scarlett Johansson and Scarlet Witch, and in 2015 she played S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill in the highly successful superhero film “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” which became one of the top-grossing films of all time.
Smulders’ acting career has grown considerably since starring in the critically acclaimed 2011 film The Vow and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. For this reason Cobie is often considered one of Hollywood’s favorite celebrities.
She has starred in several films such as; Safe Haven, Escape, Dr Miracles. She also made appearance on television in; Smallville, Tru Calling, Stumptown, How to make it in America and many others.

Smulders got engaged to Taran Killam in January 2009 and they eventually hot married on September 8, 2012, in Solvang, California.
Their union is blessed with two daughters, who were born in 2009 and 2015.
She also made announcement that she became an American citizen in 2020 while still retaining her Canadian Citizenship.
