Alessia Caracciolo (born July 11, 1996) popularly known as Alessia Cara, is a Canadian singer and songwriter who came to prominence for her cover songs like “Sweater Weather” and “Love Yourself”. She became the first Canadian artist to win the Grammy award for Best New Artist. She is a versatile singer with music genres of R&B, pop and soul music.

Early Life
Alessia Cara was born on July 11, 1996 in Ontario, Canada and was raised in Brampton where she had her secondary school education at Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary school.
She is of mixed ethnicity as her family originated from Calabria, Italy. Her father was born in Canada to an Italian parents while her mother is an Italian immigrant.
Alessia has three siblings which include an older brother named Dante Caracciolo and a younger brother, Dario Caracciolo. She also has a younger sister named Danica Caraciolo.
However, Alessia can also speak the Italian language fluently.
Career
Alessia taught herself to play the guitar at the age of 10 and started uploading covers of songs on YouTube at the age of 13.
She has been able to develop her passion with musical influence from the Canadian pop star, Justin Bieber.
She came through professionally as she signed a management deal with EP Entertainment.
She released her official debut single “Here” in April 2015 via Def Jam. The enjoys production credit from Pop & Oak and Sebastian Kole.
She released her 5 tracks EP “Four Pink Walls” and also released her debut album “Know It All” in November 2015.

Cara released her third album “In The Meantime” on September 24, 2021, while also releasing the lead singles “Sweet Dream” and “Shape Shifter” from the album.
