Early Life
AJ Mitchell was born on May 17, 2001 in Belleville, illinois. His mother Allisson Mitchell is a business owner while his father, Aaron Fredrick Mitchell Sr, is a traveling nurse.
Aj is the youngest child and the only son of his parents. He has two elder sisters; Andrea and Addison.
He also attended Belleville West High School.
Career
With much inspiration from his father, Aj began to take piano lessons at the age of 4 and at the age of 13, he already started writing songs and posting covers on YouTube.
Mitchell released his first independent single “Used to be” in 2017 as produced by Mike Dean.
He got signed to Epic records in 2018 and came through with his first studio EP with Epic, Hopeful, in July 2018.
He also collaborated with the likes of Marteen on ‘No Plans’ and Nina Nesbitt on “After Hours”.
Mitchell released his second EP, Slow dance in August 2019 which also boast of hit singles like “Move On” and “Talk So Much”.
