Mahalia Burkmar is an English singer, songwriter and actress born on May 1, 1998 in England.
Mahalia is originally from Syston, Charnwood in Liecestershire.
She is a versatile singer with musical genre of Pop, soul and R&B.
She also has a brother named, Jamaal Burkmar who is a choreographer.
Mahalia started writing song at a tender age and got signed to a record label at the age of 13.
She has continued to prove her talent with numerous hit releases. She also opened shows for the music star, Ed Sheeran and also toured with Emeli Sande.
Career
Mahalia wrote her first song at the age of 8 with musical influence from Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill.
She released her first collection “Head Space 2” in 2012.
She took some time off to focus more on her education and re-emerged in 2015 on Rudimental’s single “We the Generation”.
The beautiful singer released her second EP “Never Change” in December 2015.
Mahalia took up acting in 2016 with a role in the UK crime film “Brotherhood” and also released her debut album “Diary of Me” that same year.

In 2017, she made appearances on festival stages in the UK and lots of collaborative singles including “Hold on” featuring Buddy, “Proud of Me” featuring Little Simz.
