Nigerian midfielder, John Mikel Obi has finally found the back of the net in English football 5 years after he left for the Chinese club side.
Mikel’s last goal in English football was when he was his match for Chelsea against Fulham in September 2013.
He was able to secure a win for his team Middlesbrough who defeated Rotherham United 2-1 in a league match.
This is must be one of the happy moments for the Nigerian international who scored his first goal since he returned to England as a free agent in January.
However, Mikel Obi has not played for the Super Eagles since their exit at the Fifa world cup 2018 in Russia but he is expected to be part of Gernot Rohr’s squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations as Nigeria is drawn in group B against Madagascar, Guinea and Burundi.
