Born Georgina Chloe Eku Edewor-Thorley on December 18, 1986, popularly called as Eku Edewor, is a British Nigerian actress, television presenter and model known for her work as host of 53 Extra, an entertainment show on Africa Magic.

Edewor who grew up in both Nigeria and United Kingdom, had lived in Lagos until she was 13 years before traveled back to abroad.

She has a height of 5 feet 8 inches with an attractive slim body figure to compliment.

Early Life & Background

Eku Edewor was born in London along with her twin sister, Kessiana to her parents; Juliana Edewor (mother), an interior designer, restaurateur and art collector from Delta state part of Nigeria and her father, Hugh Thorley, a British who has worked in the food and beverage supply and logistics industries.

Although, Edewor’s parents had divorced when she was in her tender age but both of them later remarried. Her stepdad, Peter Thomas was a businessman and Lawyer from Lagos.

Education

Edewor attended St. Saviour’s school and Grange school for her primary education. She then traveled back to the United Kingdom where she attended boarding school at the Benenden School for Girls.

She obtained a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies at the Warwick University in Coventry, England. Eku also did a three month course in acting at the New York Film Academy.

Career

Edewor made her first television appearance in 2007 when she competed in the reality show Britain’s Next Top Model. She had also appeared in theatre productions while studying at the University. She got her first job in the entertainment industry as a production assistant to producer Damian Jones.

Just after she lost her stepfather in 2010, Edewor returned back to Nigeria to work in her mother’s restaurant, the Chardonnay Restaurant and Bar so that her mother could focus on her career as interior designer.

While in the country, she got a role as host of 53 Extra, an entertainment show on Africa Magic which features music, film, fashion, red carpet events and news about celebrities across the African continent.

Edewor had since made several television appearances from co-hosting the Big Brother Africa All Stars live red carpet show in 2010 to hosting the Pepsi Top Ten countdown since 2012.

She has also appeared in commercials for M-net’s 25th Anniversary and for Martini.

Aside being a television presenter, Edewor also starred in numerous television series such as The Island and How She Left My Brother. She got her first major film role in the 2013 romantic comedy movie “Flower Girl” and later starred the role of Victoria in the 2014 film, When Loves Comes Around, produced by Zynell Zuh.

Personal Life

Edewor and her partner, Chini Odogwu who is a photographer, have a child, a daughter together.

Awards

Eku Edewor got nomination for TV presenter of the Year at the ELOY Awards in 2014.
