German club side, Borusia Dortmund has confimed that their attacking midfielder, Christian Pulisic has been signed by Chelsea in a £58m deal.
Although, the deal has been sealed by Chelsea but Pulisic will likely remain in Germany on loan until the end of the season before moving to Stamford Bridge.
The 20 year old has now become Chelsea’s third most expensive signing in their history after the £71m deal for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and £60m for striker Alvaro Morata.
Just after Dortmund had confirmed the news, Chelsea believe that they have secured one of the best young talents in the world.
“We are delighted to have signed one of Europe’s most sought-after young players,” said Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia. “Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come. We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”
Pulisic also said:
“In summer I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the English Premier League. It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world class players.”
However, this serves as Maurizio Sarri third major signing ever since he replaced Antonio Conte with Kepa and Jorginho arriving at the start of the season, the Italian manager hopes to strengthen his attack with the combination of Pulisic and Eden Hazard.
