Femi Odugbemi biography

Femi Odugbemi is an award winning Nigerian documentary film maker , screenwriter, director and producer born in 1963 in Lagos state.

He is notable for his works on Tinsel, a popular Nigerian soap opera that began airing in August 2008.

Odugemi studied film and television production at Montana State University.

After his tertiary education, he worked as film and radio producer at Linta Adevrtising.

Asides Tinsel, he has produced, directed and produced several documentaries, short films and drama.

Odugbemi scripted, produced and directed “Bariga Boys”, a Nigerian documentary about street performers in Bariga, Lagos.

He also scripted, produced and directed a documentary in 2013 titled “Literature, Langauge and Literalism” which is about the late Nigerian writer, Daniel O. Fagunwa, the author of Ogboju Ode ninu Igbo Irunmale.

He also produced Abobaku in 2008 which won the the Most outstanding short film at Zuma Film Festival held in 2010.

Femi Odugbemi’s recent works include; “Gidi Blues”, “Battleground” and “Makoko”, a documentary on the slum dwellers by the lagos lagoon
