Born Ayoleyi  Hanniel Solomon on 6th December 1993, is a Nigerian singer and song writer currently signed to the Mavin record label owned by Don Jazzy.

Life & Music Career
Reekado Banks who started as a singer in the church is the last-born of a family of 6 children born to a pastor father and a caterer mum.

He completed his secondary school in 2008 and graduated in 2014 from the prestigious University of Lagos with a degree in History and strategic studies.

The singer who grew up in Ikorodu, an outskirt of Lagos, also a brother, Temi who is a music producer and an elder sister, a gospel singer.

Before fame, Reeky as fondly called has adopted the name “Spicy” and also do more of rap of which he was later advised by his brother to focus more on singing.

His stage name, Reekado Banks is curled out from a Spanish name “Ricardo” which means “Ruler of kings” and the “Banks” according to the singer means “Being rich in musical content”.

Reekado’s journey isn’t complete without mentioning how he got signed by the record giant, Mavins.

This was how it all started; Reeky’s brother had submitted some of his songs without his consent to the record label in an online Mavin talent search competition of which he got picked out of the 5,000 entries.

In 2014, he was unveiled as a new artist alongside Korede Bello and Di’ja into the Mavin record label.

The singer wasted no time to drop his first official single “Turn It Up” under the label the same day he got signed.

He also a released a single “Katapot” which was believed to be a diss track for D’banj and Wande Coal. Don Jazzy later debunk the rumor in a series of tweets and Reekado Banks alos confirmed to an online newspaper that the song was meant for his fans.

Obviously, Reekado Fans popularly “Reekaddicts” love his style of music but the singer has more to offer than just singing.

He is a major contributor to Tiwa Savage’s singles “My darling” and also Pasuma’s “Ife” featuring Tiwa Savage.

Ever since he was signed into the Mavin records, Reeky has released more than five hit singles which includes; Turn it up, Katapot, Corner, Sugar baby, Oluwa ni, and the latest one Easy (Jeje).

He has also been a part of the collaboartive singles by the Mavins which includes: Dorobucci, Adaobi, Looku Looku, Jantamanta and Arise featuring Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, D’Prince, Korede Bello and Di’ja.

On 1st September 2016, he released his first official debut album titled “Spotlight” of which the album tracklist includes: Killah whyna ft. Patoranking, Problem, Koloba, Biggy man ft. Falz,  change, all your love ft. D’prince, Move ft. Vanessa Mdee and so on.

Reekado Banks effort didn’t go unnoticed as the singer started out with the Rookie of year awards at 2014 Headies.

He won the Next rated award at the Headies 2015, a tough category which includes the likes of Kiss Daniel and Lil Kesh.

At the same Headies, he was given the video of the year for his hit single “Katapot” which was directed by Unlimited LA.

City People entertainment also recognized the music star as the most promising act to watch out for in 2015.
