The Union embarked on the strike based on complaints abount the issue of poor funding and failure of the governmnet to honor the past agreement it had with its members.
However, the University lecturers on strike have decided to agree to the federal government's offer and suspend the strike.
As as last week Friday, ASUU negotiation team had requested just one week to submit the government offers to its members for consultation and then report back to the government.
A source in the Union had informed Premium times about the decision for the National leadership to meet on Thursday in order to decide if the strike would be called off or not.
“NEC will hold a decisive meeting tomorrow and will collate the outcome of all branch meetings held,” the source, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak with journalists on the issue, said on Wednesday.Like seriously, the strike needs to be called off as it has dealt with various applicants as most universities including Nnamdi Azikwe University and UNILAG, had to postpone their Post UTME screening exercises.
