Women in Limuru, Kiambu county are deeply worried as they have been literally hit by shortage of what they term 'real men'.
A section of women held peaceful demonstration in Ndeiya ward of the county on Thursday June 5 claiming that most of their men, including young men are registering dismal performance in the bedroom.
Women claimed that overindulgence in alcohol has been the technical reason why men abandon their homes andare unable to perform bedroom obligations at the expense of their wives.
As bad as the situation seem to be, women claimed that only a handful newly married women get pregnant.
"If you walk in this village, you find so many young married women but only a few are pregnant", Nancy Wangare, one of the protesters said.
Wangare also adds that soon women will have no option but to seek for men outside Limuru to sire children with.
The apparent "desperate housewives" are now calling on the government to ensure strict enforcement of the famous Mutotho rule in the area which restrict drinking hours from 5pm-11pm on weekdays and 2PM - 11PM for wekends.
