MTN in particular has sent messages to all its users that prices will soon change.
However, a senior mangement employee of Etisalat Nigeria had told Punch that NCC is increasing prices because it feels Nigerians pay too low for internet subscriptions.
The NCC issued the directive late last week on the orders of federal government. We have not announced it yet because of the major Telcos have been meeting the NCC on how to reverse the policy, because it will be too harsh for Nigerians.
Federal government has also now taken that decision as they feel Nigerians pay too low for internet as compared to other counries, including nearby African countries.
